WCC Master's Regatta Coming Oct. 9-10!
Attention all Master's sprint kayakers! Don't miss The Washington Canoe Club's annual Master's Regatta October 9 and 10, 2010. This annual Regatta, the oldest continuing Masters competition in the United States, will once again be hosted by the Washington Canoe Club on the banks of the scenic Potomac River.
In addition to the Masters Invitational, the WCC is also hosting a US Regional Championship on the same weekend. This Middle States Regatta is also open to Canadians and will be held on Saturday, October 9th.
Plan to come to Washington for a great US Columbus Day and Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend!
Schedule of Events:
- Saturday afternoon (approximately 3 pm exact time TBD) : 5K Distance Race
- Saturday 6 pm : Informal BBQ on the docks.
- Sunday 8 am – 3 pm : Full Schedule of Master's 500 racing with K1, K2, K4, C1, C2 and C4 for men, women and mixed boats.
- Sunday 3:15 pm : War Canoe Challenge
- Sunday 5:00 pm : Traditional Thanksgiving dinner (location TBD)

Registration for the Regatta is now open. Please download the attached file, which is in Word format.
Complete and return to Darek Oborski via email (). All entries need to be received by October 5th to be included.

Logistics:
We are no longer able to offer accommodations at WCC. However we have reserved two blocks of rooms at hotels within walking distance of club.
10 rooms reserved for two nights: Saturday October 9 and Sunday October 10. Rate of $109/night plus tax
Individuals must make their own reservation by calling the above number by 9/8/2010 and identify themselves as members of Washington Canoe Club. All reservations must be guaranteed w major credit card. If reservation is not canceled 72 hours prior to 10/8/2010 hotel will charge first night's rate plus tax.
15 rooms reserved for four nights – Thursday Oct 7 through Sunday Oct 10th. Rate of $129/night plus tax.
Individuals must make their own reservation by calling the above number by 9/16/2010 and request a room in the Washington Canoe Club Block. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. If reservation is not canceled 72 hours prior to date of arrival hotel will charge first night's rate plus tax.
