The James River Association is sponsoring a race of approximately 18 miles on the tidal Chicahominy River, from the Riverside Park at the confluence of the James, upriver (with the tide) to Roc-a-hoc Campground. A 10-mile option might be added also.
The race is May 29, 2010, which conflicts with those of us who go to New York for the General Clinton. That said, it would be a lot of fun and a good venue for surfskis, sea kayaks, canoes and outriggers. There are plentiful paddling and camping options around to easily fill an entire weekend as well.
I will post more information as it becomes available.
