Good question!
As it turns out, on this new forums version, we have to manually set who can do special things like upload file. So I changed permissions for all registered users (i.e. those who register and the administrator allows to be registered) to have the ability to:
1. Upload files and images into their posts
2. Make their posts sticky (will stay at the top; good for super important messages)
3. Can add topic icons to posts (something new for this version)
So try it now. You should be able to edit your original post. You should see a tab at the bottom of the posting entry that says something like 'add attachments'. You can add them inline, if they are photos. Or you can leave them at the end if they are word documents or the like.
There is a size limit of attachments, which is 256K per file. And 3 files per post. And it is good measure to keep image sizes to within the space provided in a normal message. Re-size them before you attach them, if you can. I recommend 800x600 pixels.
